The Jacksonian Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will sponsor the Miss Jackson pageants at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at Jackson High School. The pageants are affiliated with the Miss Missouri/Miss America Pageants.
The pageants are open to girls ages 3 to 24.
The winner of the Miss Jackson Scholarship Pageant will represent Jackson at the Miss Missouri Scholarship Pageant. The winner of that pageant will then represent Missouri at the Miss America Scholarship Pageant.
The winner of the Miss Jackson Outstanding Teen Pageant will represent Jackson at the Miss Missouri Outstanding Teen Pageant. The winner of that pageant will represent Missouri at the Miss America Outstanding Teen Pageant.
The Miss Jackson Scholarship Pageant and the Miss Jackson Outstanding Teen Pageant are both directed under the rules and regulations of the Miss America Scholarship Program.
The Miss Jackson Scholarship Fund gave away more than $1,500 in scholarship money last year and is financed by many area citizens, merchants and businesses and is used to award scholarships for the Miss Jackson Pageant.
The Miss Jackson Outstanding Teen, Preteen Miss Jackson, Little Miss Jackson and Tiny Miss Jackson pageants award savings bonds and prizes donated by area businesses and financial institutions.
