By the end of today AmerenUE expects power will be fully restored to customers in 19 Southeast Missouri towns affected by last week's winter storm. Customers in another 11 towns can expect to have electricity by the end of Tuesday, a press release from the St. Louis-based power company said. All 34 towns affected should have power by the end of Wednesday.
About 4,000 line workers, field checkers, tree trimmers and other staff are working to repair damaged power lines. As of 6:40 a.m. approximately 13,900 customers were still in the dark in Missouri, including most customers in Dunklin County at 1,081 and 86 percent of New Madrid County customers with 4,331. Others without power include 5,149 in Pemiscot County, 2,070 in Stoddard County, 945 in Scott County and 329 in Mississippi County.
The restoration schedule is as follows for Southeast Missouri customers:
Today: Bernie, Blodgett, Morely, Haywood City, Vanduser, Crowder, Braggadocio, Catron, Caruthersville, Dexter, Essex, Gibson, Clarkton, Holcomb, Hayti, Lilbourn, Parma, Risco and Wardell
Tuesday: Gideon, Miner, Morehouse, Portageville, Conran, Rainbow City, Marston, Howardville, Steele, Cooter, Holland.
Wednesday: Derring, Bragg City, Matthews and Canalou
