ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION PRESENTS AWARDS

The Alzheimer's Association recently named two Southeast Missouri residents at "Volunteers of the Year."

Lt. Tracy Lemond of the Cape Girardeau Police Department and Dr. Abhilash Desai of Sikeston, Mo., were honored during a program and volunteers dinner.

Lemonds speaks to public safety groups about Alzheimer's disease. He has completed training in Safe Return, a program that helps people who wander and become disoriented.

Desai is medical director for senior lifestyles at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston and serves on the association's advisory board.
