The band The Sun Sawed In Half will play for the first time in Cape Girardeau this weekend at the River City Yacht Club at Port Cape Girardeau. Opening for the band is The Brave Little Toasters.
Doc Cain, owner of Port Cape Girardeau said "The Sun" frequently plays at alternative music clubs in St. Louis and Chicago. They are also a favorite on college campuses.
The five-piece band has released a self-titled debut album, including 16 songs including, "Tangerine Queen" and "Raking the Leaves of the Yum-Yum Tree."
They have appeared at Cicero's, the Hi-Pointe, Mississippi Nights, and Kennedy's in St. Louis, and play mostly original music.
The bands will perform Friday and Saturday beginning at 9 p.m.
