The May meeting of the American Legion Post # 158 was called to order by Commander Seabaugh, at 8 p.m. The Color Guard advanced the colors, Chaplain Boyd Summers gave the opening prayer. The pledge of allegiance to the flag, and the preamble of the American Legion Constitution were recited in unison by the 52 members present.
Larry Koehler was introduced as a new member. Leonard Adams introduced Carlton Meyer, who gave the program on the history of the American flag. Ballots for the election of officers were distributcd.

Financial Report: Mike Proctor -- Report approved as read.
Membership: Lloyd Law -- Membership stands at 655 had paided their dues for 2000.
Graves Information: Carlton Meyer -- Special thanks to the individuals who helped place falgs for Memorial Day

Welfare-Club Room -Hospital: Bill Poe -- Kelly Gohn, Charles Hutson, and Mabel Skinner gave medical equipment to the post during the past month. Club room report approved as read.
Post Flag Information: Carlton Meyer -- Two flags were donated to community organizations.
House Report: Leon Laurentius -- Approved as read.
Honor Guard: Bill Sullivan -- Reported that new officers for the year had been elected and the Honor Guard presented the colors at the Memorial Day Program. The Honor Guard annual picnic will be June 25 at Shelter #5, Cape County Park.
Public Relations: Jim Nelson -- Contributions made to the American Legion Post 158 Memorial
Scholarship Fund during the past month.

New Business: The post voted to send a letter to the County Commissioners, objecting to moving the War Memorial at Cape County Park.
Drawing: $54.75 in the pot. The names of Adolph Ludwig, Lindell Hodges, Carl Loenneke and Charles Ramsey were drawn. None Present.
Color Guard retired the Colors. Chaplain Boyd Summers gave closing prayer. Closed the rneeting at 9:07 p.m.
