The choirs of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg will present their annual Christmas concert Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. The concert will be held inside the historic church.
Guest performers during the concert will be harpist Cheryl Reinagel and her daughter Sara Fluegge playing flute. They will perform several selections. The women, who are from Jackson, have performed together several times during the holiday season.
Trinity Choral Society, under the direction of Nelda Koeberl, will begin the concert with their traditional candlelight processional. There will be several audience participation Christmas carols, accompanied by Connie Steffens. Following the carols, the children's choir of the congregation will perform several selections. They are led by Carolyn Kassulke.
The concert will include the haunting "What Strangers Are These?" and the exciting "Run, Shepherd, Run."
Also included will be a new selection, "A Little Light Was Born" and the beautiful closing "Christmas Prayer."
Soloists during the concert will include Daniel Lichtenegger, Lori Schlimpert and a mother/daughter duet by Sally Buerck and Dolores Schmidt. The choir is accompanied by Barb Burroughs.
The public is invited to attend. There will be a reception with light refreshments following the concert.
