EAST PRAIRIE -- Alfred Loren Gore Sr., 70, of East Prairie died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Matthews, son of Raymond and Bertha Pauline Mays Gore. He and Fredamae Imogene Lumsden were married Oct. 9, 1948.
Gore had lived in Mississippi County most of his life, and was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Kenneth, Wayne, Alfred Jr. and Daniel Gore, all of East Prairie; four daughters, Judith Griggs, Glenda Wilburn, Dorothy Tinnin and Tammie Gore, all of East Prairie.
He is also survived by four brothers, Richard Gore of Cahokia, Ill., Robert Gore of Wright City, James Gore of East Prairie, Dale Gore of Rector, Ark.; six sisters, Mildred Coffer of Wright City, Sally White of Cape Girardeau, Betty Rich of St. Louis, Sue Talley of St. Charles, Diane Haney of Sikeston, Joyce Johnson of Poplar Bluff; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
