Alexander County to conduct property tax sale through sealed-bid auction

CAIRO, Ill. -- Alexander County is offering delinquent tax properties for sale through a sealed-bid auction, according to a county news release.

The real estate was obtained through tax proceedings on properties that were delinquent for the 2007 tax year and prior. Nearly 250 items will be available through the auction.

Those interested must have their sealed bids in the Alexander County treasurer's office in the Alexander County Courthouse by close of business Nov. 18. The courthouse is at 2000 Washington Ave. in Cairo. Bids must be a minimum of $635 per item. Items will be sold to the highest sealed bid.
