A new lease for office space in the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport will be considered at the Cape Girardeau City Council meeting Tuesday night.
Aircraft Rotorcraft Maintenance Engineering Services LLC is awaiting a new six-month lease in Hangar 71 that will be used for administrative office space.
Airport manager Bruce Loy said the intention of the company is to eventually expand the business into the hangar floor for the purpose of aircraft maintenance and refurbishing, with an emphasis on refurbishing former military helicopters.
According to the city council agenda report, the cost to lease the 300-square-foot offices within the hangar will cost the business owners $225 per month. The lease includes a clause enabling the city to terminate this lease if the city receives a lease or purchase offer for the entire facility.
Should ARMES need to expand the business onto the hangar floor before the six-month lease is up, Loy said, the agreement can be amended to allow it.
