AIR EVAC RECEIVES AWARD FOR SAFETY RECORD

The Air Evac Lifeteam, which operates air ambulance services in Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas, was recently honored at the 1993 Air Medical Transport Conference with the Bronze Air Medical Safety Award.

The award is given to aeromedical helicopter programs that have achieved at least 5,000 accident-free missions. Of the estimated 200 air ambulance systems in the nation, fewer than half have achieved 5,000 accident-free medical missions.

Air Evac's Southeast Missouri base is located at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Air Evac operates three other services from bases in West Plains, Mo., and Springdale, Ark.
