Winners of the annual District Vocational Agriculture and FFA Judging contests at Southeast Missouri State University have been announced.
First- and second-place finishers by high school:
- Jackson, first in agriculture mechanics, forestry, meats, and second in dairy cattle and entomology.
- Kelly, first in entomology, floriculture and public speaking, second in agricultural sales, nursery/landscaping, and soils.
- East Prairie, first in agricultural sales and soils, and second in creed speaking and FFA knowledge.
- Advance, first in dairy cattle and second in meat.
- Dexter, first in dairy foods and creed speaking.
- Bloomfield, second in dairy foods.
- Perryville, first in farm management.
- Charleston, second in floriculture.
- Cape Girardeau, first in nursery/landscaping.
- Oran, second in poultry.
- Meadow Heights, first in FFA knowledge.
Twenty-six high school vocational agricultural education programs participated in the three days of contests. Some of the contests were held at Bloomfield High School on March 19.
About 500 students participated in the contests March 29. Nearly 300 participated in the activities March 30.
