Advanced Business Systems has formed an additional corporation, RCOMCO Inc., to purchase the assets of the MicroAge Computer Store in Cape Girardeau.
Jack Mehner, president of Advanced Business Systems, announced the new corporation recently. He said that Leo DeWitt Jr., who has a dozen years of experience in the computer business, will be manager of the new operation and that the entire staff will continue with the new center. Staff members include DeWitt, Larry Loos, Debbie Hengst, Evelyn Walker and Gregg Brown.
MicroAge specializes in business accounting, medical systems for doctors' offices, Novel Network installation and support, word processing, spreadsheets, data base and other computer applications. It provides name-brand equipment such as IBM, Epson and Compaq.
Advanced Business Systems has been in business in Cape Girardeau since 1963.
Mehner said the merging of the companies will "provide businesses in Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois with expertise necessary to solve the majority of office automation problems today and in the future."
