GRASSY, Mo. -- An Advance, Missouri, teenager died and another seriously injured during an accident late Saturday.
Austin K. Engram, 16, was killed in an accident at 11:05 p.m. Saturday on Route Y, five miles southwest of Grassy.
Engram was driving north when his utility vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, striking several mailboxes and several trees, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Engram and a passenger in the vehicle, William D. Welty, 17, of Advance, both were thrown from the vehicle.
Engram was pronounced dead at the scene by Bollinger County Coroner Charles Hutchings at 12:10 a.m. Sunday.
Welty was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment.
