The accident occurred four miles south of Marquand on Route DD just after 2 a.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Investigators were unsure which of the two men was driving the vehicle, which apparently ran off the roadway, struck a culvert, became airborne and then struck an embankment and overturned several times.

Neither occupant was wearing a safety device, the patrol reported.
