An Advance, Mo., man faces criminal charges after a weekend motorcycle accident in Cape Girardeau County. Christopher L. Schearf, 39, sustained serious injuries in the accident. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Schearf was eastbound on County Road 256 in Cape Girardeau County when he reportedly struck an animal in the road. He was ejected from his bike and was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment. The patrol responded to the wreck at 7:20 p.m. At 8:05 p.m., Schearf was charged with driving while intoxicated and with not wearing a helmet.
