KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- An American Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Kansas City International Airport after a flash drive caused a scare when it was found in a bathroom.

Airport spokesman Joe McBride said the discovery was made Sunday afternoon as the flight was headed from San Francisco International Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.

KSHB reported more than 220 passengers and crew members were evacuated. The plane was isolated at one side of the airport, where it was searched.
