The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is preparing for the 9th annual Friends of the Park Day Saturday.
The public is encouraged to join the Parks and Recreation staff from 9 a.m. to noon to assist in cleaning up Capaha Park. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. T-shirts will be provided by local sponsors, and a sack lunch will be given to all volunteers.
The Beautification Committee of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce will be giving away saplings to the first 100 flood victims who request them. K103/KZIM will also give away free saplings to anyone who requests one.
Organizations interested in helping Saturday should contact Penny at the Parks & Recreation office at 335-5421.
