Four candidates will make their cases to voters in Missouri's 8th Congressional District at a debate tonight.

The event, at 6:30 p.m. at Shuck Recital Hall on the Southeast Missouri State University River Campus, will be broadcast live on KFVS12 and streamed live at www.semissourian.com. The university, KFVS12 and the Southeast Missourian are sponsoring the event.

Republican state Rep. Jason Smith, Democratic state Rep. Steve Hodges, Constitution Party candidate Doug Enyart and Bill Slantz of the Libertarian Party will participate.

Southeast professor emeritus Dr. Tom Harte will moderate. KFVS12's Jeff Cunningham and Southeast Missourian editor Bob Miller will be panelists.

Due to limited seating, tickets were given out by sponsors and candidate campaigns.
