WEST PLAINS, Mo. -- An 82-year-old woman who previously served six years' probation for distributing marijuana is now awaiting sentencing on a methamphetamine charge.
Josephine Mary Greer entered an Alford plea in Howell County Circuit Court on Friday to a felony charge of distributing meth.
The plea does not admit guilt but acknowledges that the prosecution has enough evidence to secure a conviction if the case went to trial.
Greer, of Caulfield, was accused of selling one gram of meth to an undercover officer in September 1998 at the Sahara Motel, north of West Plains.
She was operating the motel when she was arrested in March 2001.
Greer had said she has never manufactured or distributed meth, and that she believed she was framed.
Greer's sentencing was set for Oct. 23.
