7 veterans to receive honorary diplomas

JACKSON, Mo. -- Seven veterans will receive their honorary high school diplomas from Jackson High School next month as part of Operation Recognition.

Clarence Kieninger, Dale Wolfenkoehler, Martin Roberts and Forrest Hueter of Jackson, Mo.; Jackie Morton and Wilbert Welker of Cape Girardeau; and Ules Woods of Burfordville, Mo., will take part in a special graduation ceremony in the Jackson High School auditorium at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 26.

Operation Recognition is a statewide program that acknowledges the veterans who left high school to serve in the armed forces during times of war before they had graduated.
