More than 500 people are expected at the annual Copper Dome Society dinner tonight.

The event, which recognizes donors to the Southeast Missouri University Foundation, will be held at the Show Me Center. It begins with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

David Strauss, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, will be the speaker. He holds a bachelor of science degree in education and a master of arts in teaching.

A report on foundation activities will be presented. The foundation has a membership of about 3,000.

Strauss, a frequent speaker before civic, corporate and charitable organizations in the St. Louis area, has been a professional writer since 1978, authoring a number of trivia books.

A trivia buff who captained a championship trivia team in the annual University of Colorado's Boulder Trivia Bowl, Strauss is a member of the Trivia Hall of Fame. He has appeared on numerous television and radio trivia programs.

Trivia articles by Strauss have appeared in more than 90 newspapers around the country.

The St. Louis native makes his home in South St. Louis County. He is working on a novel.
