HAYTI, Mo. -- A 44-year-old Hayti man was recently arrested on the charge of forcibly raping a 15-year-old Hayti girl.
At approximately 12:05 p.m. on Saturday, Hayti officers took a report from a 15-year-old female, stating that she had been raped.
Jerry D. Jordan, 44, of Hayti, held her down and had sexual intercourse with her, she reported.
Officers obtained a search warrant from Pemiscot County Prosecuting Attorney Michael B. Hazel and Judge Byron Luber, and were assisted in executing the warrant by a member of the Bootheel Drug Task Force, Pemiscot County Sheriff's Deputies, Caruthersville Police Officers, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
After serving the warrant, officers located and seized several pieces of evidence that may contain biological evidence from when the rape took place. Investigators then arrested Jordan on charges of forcible rape and forcible sodomy.
On Sunday, Jordan was incarcerated in the Pemiscot County Justice Center on the formal charge of forcible rape and is being held on a $100,000 cash or surety bond.
