The Cape Girardeau County 4-H Achievement Event and County Fair was held July 10-11 in Jackson.
4-H members gave demonstrations and participated in grooming, fashion revue, public speaking and judging contests.
Demonstration participants were Alice James and Marci Myracle, foods; Matthew Green, computers; Jessica Morrow, earthquake information; Brandon Gerecke, electrical dangers; and Jennifer Weiss, clothing.
Judging contest winners were Matthew Green, foods; Justin Koerber and Bobby Green, outdoorsman; Andrew Clark and Erin Uhrhan, health and safety; Ben Meier and Eric Sievers, woodworking; Jessica Morrow and Brad Smith, grooming; Nicole Landgraf, public speaking; and Jennifer Weiss and Denise Aufdenberg, fashion revue.
Fair projects receiving rosette ribbons included: Jessica Morrow, clothing; David Loenecke, foods; Ben Meier, woodworking; Erin Urhahn, visual arts; Andrew Clark, vegetables; Andrea Kieninger, home grounds; and Becky Koerber, crochet and computer.
The fair exhibits and other blue-ribbon winners will be sent to the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia. All exhibits will then be displayed in the 4-H Building at the Fairgrounds.
