SIKESTON, Mo. - An 18-month law enforcement investigation led to at least 31 drug-related arrests in southeast Missouri.

Officers on Wednesday fanned out with 60 indictments, starting in Sikeston in Scott County but reaching as far north as Cape Girardeau and south to Blytheville, Ark.

Sikeston Public Safety Director Drew Juden said Wednesday's effort was a joint investigation between local, state and federal officials of drug distribution in southeast Missouri.

Juden says when the officers were done, 31 people had been taken into custody.

The Sikeston Standard-Democrat reported the drug distribution allegedly took place between October 2009 and August 2011.
