KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The winter storm that blanketed northern Missouri with snow and ice has claimed at least three victims.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports at least three fatal accidents on Tuesday are blamed on roads made dangerous by ice and snow.
A Texas man was killed north of Trenton after his pickup truck lost control on a patch of ice.
A Missouri man was ejected from his vehicle after it lost control and struck a ditch in Gentry County near Albany, and a Bonner Springs, Kan., man was killed in a crash east of Plattsburg in Clinton County.
The patrol is urging drivers to take extra care Wednesday. The storm has left the state, but temperatures are expected to remain well below freezing -- keeping roads icy.
