SEDALIA, Mo. -- A 37-year-old man with a history of mental illness killed his brother and his brother's fiancee before shooting and killing himself, authorities said Monday.

The Pettis County Sheriff's Department received a call about 7 a.m. Monday that a body was lying on the ground at the Happy Acres mobile home park, about one mile north of Sedalia, said Capt. Dave Keller.

The dead were identified as Daniel W. Veach, 37; his brother, Stephen M. Veach, 31; and Amy Louise Wall, 24. The three lived together in the mobile home.

The department said an investigation concluded that Daniel Veach shot his brother and Wall and then shot himself. Stephen Veach's body was found outside the mobile home. Wall's body was found on a couch in the home, and Daniel Veach's body was found in the home's hall.

Daniel Veach had a long history of mental illness, the department said.
