Three men were arrested in a police drug surveillance operation on Wednesday.
Officers were conducting observations in the 400 block south of Ellis Street Wednesday morning when two men were seen walking, Cpl. Kevin Orr said.
When police got out of their car to approach the men, they ran in opposite directions. After short chases, both men were arrested, Orr said.
Joseph Akens, 20, of 926 William was arrested for resisting a lawful stop. Akens also was arrested and charged with possession of more than 5 grams of marijuana with intent to distribute. Jabril Walton, 22, of 124 S. Henderson was also arrested for resisting a lawful stop. Walton and Akens are being held on bonds of $30,000.
While chasing the two men, police noticed another man known to have an outstanding warrant, Orr said.
Police arrested Brittany Purl, 25, who was wanted for assault.
