More than 100 craft beer samples from more than 25 microbreweries will be offered during the second annual Cape Girardeau Craft Beer Festival on Saturday.
The festival, scheduled from noon to 4 p.m., will be at Arena Park in the SEMO Fairground Bank of America Show Arena. The cost of admission is $30 in advance and $35 at the gate, which includes a pilsner beer glass, the tasting of more than 100 craft beers, home-brewing demonstrations and live music from the Jerry Ford German Band. Food will be available from Cook's Bar-B-Que, and there will also be hourly drawings for gifts and prizes.
The event is presented by the Community Counseling Center Foundation, and all proceeds will be used for providing improved facilities, equipment and services for people suffering from mental illness. The Community Counseling Center is a not-for-profit provider of mental health care, serving Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Madison, Ste. Genevieve and Perry counties.
Tickets are available at all Community Counseling Center locations and at Bluff City Beer, Primo Vino Premium Spirits and Wines, Kidd's Gas and Convenience Stores, P-Mac Music, Dirt Cheap and the John Huber Home Brew Supply in Fruitland. Tickets will also be available at the gate. For more information, contact Larry Essner at 339-6512.
