He has volunteered many, many hours to building the fire department, organizing the emergency management plan for Bollinger County; helping the sheriff's office, as a reserve officer, to execute more than 100 warrants for meth labs.

He has been self-motivated to attend and train many, many schools in fire investigation, rescue training, HazMat, homicide investigation and local emergency planning.

He was an Eagle Scout and a U.S. Navy Flight Officer and naval legal officer.

Our community has benefited greatly from Jim's search for excellence. He is a forward thinker. Few people can exceed his drive to put community first.
