A former fast-food restaurant employee and another man have been arrested for their role in a Jan. 17 robbery of the store.

Brandon A. Harris, 18, of Cape Girardeau and Scott W. Pierce, 19, of Jackson, Mo., have been charged with first-degree robbery of Blimpie Subs and Salads, 3036 William St.

Police said Harris was a Blimpie employee who worked the night of the robbery.

The store was robbed about 30 minutes before closing by a man who threatened the restaurant manager with a handgun.

The store manager told police the masked robber entered the store through a rear door. After threatening the manager with a semiautomatic pistol, the robber ordered him to go to the cash register. After he was handed the store's cashbox, he told the manager to turn his backto him. The robber left through the rear door.

Harris and Pierce were released after posting bonds of $25,000.
