A third suspect has been arrested in connection with a burglary ring in Jackson.

Zachary S. Laird, 17, of 855 Aaron Drive, Jackson, was charged Tuesday with five counts of theft over $500.

According to a probable-cause statement by deputy Scott Schnurbusch of the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department, Laird was implicated by one of the other two men arrested in connection with the theft ring.

Eric J. Brashear, 17, and Seth W. Pulliam, 20, both of Jackson, were arrested June 25.

Brashear faces three counts of theft, and Pulliam was charged with one count of burglary, three counts of theft and one count of theft of a firearm.

On April 30, a vehicle break-in was reported at 203 S. Forester St. A black CD case containing more than $300 worth of CDs, and a US Bank envelope containing $260 in cash were reported missing from the two cars.

In a June 25 interview with Jackson police, Pulliam allegedly confessed to the break-in.

Laird was interviewed on Monday and admitted he was involved in some of the burglaries, according to the sworn statement. He said he was a lookout and held the flashlight as Pulliam rifled through cars looking for items to take, the statement said.

Bond for Laird has been set at $15,000 cash or surety.
