A 17-year-old Kennett, Mo., boy was charged Thursday with first-degree robbery, attempted first-degree robbery and armed criminal action in connection with an armed robbery Feb. 17 in downtown Cape Girardeau.
Associate Circuit Judge Gary Kamp ordered a $100,000 bond for Damarius A. Wells.
According to the probable-cause statement, Wells approached two men in the 300 block of Broadway at 11:38 p.m., asking to use one of the men's cell phones. After some conversation Wells allegedly pulled out a handgun, fired it and demanded the man's money and the cell phone and money from the other man, who refused. Wells then fled, according to the report.
