KENNETT, Mo. -- The election for the 150th District House of Representatives scheduled to be Tuesday has been stayed.
The Court of Appeals ordered a stay of election March 12.
On March 1, a notice of appeal was filed by Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney Stephen Sokoloff, who is representing County Clerk Carol Hinesly.
The areas that would have been voting in Tuesday's election would have included Campbell Ward II, Campbell Rural and Cotton Hill Rural Precinct because of voting irregularities in November's election.
Election judges gave some voters ballots with the wrong state House district listed on them.
In the original November election vote count, Campbell Democrat Tom Todd was defeated by incumbent Republican Kent Hampton of Malden, Mo. New House district lines had been redrawn before the election, after the 2010 census. Hampton defeated Todd by 116 votes, and was sworn in to the Missouri House in January.
