EGYPT MILLS -- Ten women suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious when a large passenger van left the roadway and crashed into an embankment on Highway 177 near Egypt Mills Friday afternoon.
Most seriously injured were Cindy Rankin, 33, of Cape Girardeau, and Janet Wiley, 32, Cape Girardeau, who were admitted to Southeast Missouri Hospital. Both were reported in fair condition late Friday.
Missouri State Police say the accident occurred about 2:10 p.m. Friday, and that everyone in the van was wearing seat-belts.
Eight of the victims were treated and released. They include:
Lori Hafele, 20, Jackson, driver of the van; Pauline Meekle, 35, Sikeston; Sheryl Wilson, 29, Sandra Moore, Michelle Hall, 36, and Angela Glenn, 27, all of Cape Girardeau; Tammy Matthews, 22, East Prairie; and Robin Lindbled, 36, Scott City.
