Details were sketchy. A woman answering the phone at the sheriff's department declined to release any details about the case, including the charges against Lonnie Liley, but she said the department would release more information later.

Aside from a pair of traffic violations in the late 1990s, online court records show no prior offenses for Lonnie Liley.

In 2007, Jessie Liley pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was placed on five years' supervised probation. He was granted an early release from his probation in 2010, online court records show.

In 2000, Jessie Liley faced several drug charges, including manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to distribute, according to online court records. The charges later were amended, but the amended charges and the disposition of the case were unclear.
