How much banning do we want?

We recently voted on a ban of public smoking to stop "54,000 suspected deaths" from heart disease, lung cancer, SIDS, etc. due to secondhand smoke, with no studies of family or work history, if individuals were obese or abused alcohol.

All of the following information can be found at www.fedstats.com. In 2009 their were 300,000 deaths due to obesity; 123,706 from medical mishaps; 33,708 in motor vehicle accidents; and 16,655 from alcohol related diseases.

Are we ready to vote to ban food in general, autos, physicians, beer, wine and hard liquor?
