Heisserer leaves big shoes to fill

To the editor:

I was very disappointed last month when Judge John Heisserer was not elected to another term. Many people in Cape Girardeau are aware of what a great job Heisserer did while he was in office. He is not afraid to stand up to the criminals and to put them behind bars for their crimes. Cape Girardeau doesn't need a judge on the bench who slaps these people on their wrists after listening to their lame excuses for breaking the laws. I hope judge-elect Ben Lewis can fill the shoes he is about to step into and that he will continue with Heisserer's commitment to make this city a safer place to raise our families.
