Students learn about disabilities

To the editor:

This past week I have had the privilege and honor of speaking to students in the Jackson School District from grades six to 12 about disability awareness during the celebration of Disability Awareness Week.

I want to commend the parents, teachers, students and businesses that participated in making this week a huge success. You have set a high standard for other schools and communities to bring awareness to this important issue that "Everyone counts." I was treated with great honor and respect from the students of all Jackson schools during the week. Parents, teachers, families and friends should all be proud of their students and themselves on a job well done.
