Scouting positive influence

To the editor:

"I don't think that you get character from Boy Scouting." The anonymous author of this patently ridiculous statement printed in Speak Out is absolutely and totally wrong. No one who has ever had contact with the Boy Scouts of America would author such an absurd statement. I am very fortunate and thankful for my association with the late Dr. James Kinder and the other adult leaders who gave us their time. I am certainly aware of my character flaws. But it is my firm belief that my time with Scouting and contact with Dr. Kinder greatly influenced my life and character in a positive way.
