The St. Vincent defense limited St. Pius running back Carlos Bisch to 88 yards, becoming the first team to hold him below 100 all season.

That helped propel the Indians (3-2) to a 28-13 victory against the Lancers in a Mississippi Area Football Conference Blue Division game in Festus, Mo.

Bisch had 940 yards and 13 touchdowns on just 102 carries through the first four games of the season. But the senior made no trips to the end zone and averaged exactly 4.0 yards per carry on his 22 carries.

St. Vincent, the Class 1 state champion last year, improved to 2-0 in the MAFC Blue. St. Pius (3-2) fell to 0-2 in the division a week after suffering its first loss to Ste. Genevieve Valle Catholic.

"It was a good win for us," St. Vincent coach Keith Winkler said. "We knew St. Pius brought back a lot of starters, and we knew that Carlos Bisch is a load.

"We had guys flying around the football [on defense] and that's what we want. We want guys flying to the football."

For the Indians, Waylon Richardet scored three touchdowns and Dustin Winkler had the other.

St. Pius scored first on quarterback Kevin Kohler's 49-yard run midway through the first quarter. Kohler added the extra point.

St. Vincent scored three times in the second period. Winkler's 2-yard run 7 minutes before halftime and Justin L'Hote's extra-point kick tied the game at 7-7. Richardet scored less than 2 minutes later on a 31-yard pass from Tim Guilliams, and Richardet scored again 31.9 seconds before halftime on a 2-yard run. Guilliams two-point run made the score 21-7.

Richardet added another 2-yard run midway through the third, and Jonathan Buehler's kick made the score 28-7.

Park Hills Central 34, Perryville 21

Perryville fell behind 28-0 in the first half and fell short with a fourth-quarter rally in a battle of winless teams at Park Hills.

The Pirates (0-5) didn't get on the scoreboard until early in the fourth period, when Joe Kreitler scored on a 6-yard run. After Perryville recovered an onside kick, Jacob Hayden caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Schilling with 9:38 to play to make the score 28-14.

The Pirates recovered another onside kick, but threw an interception. However, Perryville forced a punt and returned the ball to the Rebels' 9-yard line. Schilling then passed to Ricky Dunn for the TD, cutting the gap to 28-21.

But Central's Ronnie Calvert scored on a 51-yard run on the Rebels' next possession.

SLUH 42, Central 6

St. Louis University High running back Stephen Simmons scored four touchdowns -- three in the first half -- to lead the undefeated Junior Billikens in a home victory.

Simmons scored on SLUH's first two possessions, then added a 29-yard touchdown run in the second period and a 40-yard run to open scoring in the third quarter.

Central took a 6-0 lead on Hykeem Hammonds' 58-yard run.

SLUH (5-0) answered to take a 14-6 lead after the first period and a 21-6 lead by halftime.
