Southeast Missouri State's suddenly struggling softball team suffered its fourth straight Ohio Valley Conference loss Saturday, as visiting Tennessee Tech posted a 6-3 victory.

Only one game was played despite a doubleheader being scheduled. Southeast (22-20, 10-8 OVC) and Tennessee Tech (24-26, 8-8) instead will play a noon doubleheader today.

Two errors in the top of the fifth inning led to five unearned runs by the Eaglettes to break a 1-1 tie.

The Redhawks had six hits, including two doubles by Michelle Summers. Megan McDonald also had two hits, one a double, and she drove in all three Southeast runs.

Amy Fahnestock (13-10) was the losing pitcher, allowing seven hits and one earned run in seven innings. She struck out four and walked none.

Beth Boden went 3-for-3 for Tennessee Tech, while Kacy Bennett and Stephanie Fischer both homered. Bonnie Bynum (17-15) struck out 11 and walked three in going the seven-inning distance.
