EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Kelly's offensive depth was on full display as five players reached double digits, led by Kristin Grogan and Jada Griggs' 18-point performances, in a decisive 92-22 win at East Prairie on Monday, Dec. 11.
Fueled by their suffocating defense that turned steals into easy baskets, the Lady Hawks (4-1) feasted on offense, burying the Lady Eagles (2-4) beneath an avalanche of points.
“I'm happy with how we came out defensively,” said Kelly coach Matthew Blisset. “Our defense is what fueled our offense. The girls are beginning to buy into the system we're running and it's showing. We also did a good job of showing our depth. We've had 4 games now and 4 different starting lineups. We're able to adjust our personnel to our opponents. The girls are moving in the right direction. I was happy to see five girls in double figures tonight as well.”
Kelly's supporting cast rose to the occasion, with Kayleigh Holman adding 17 points, Brooke Dirnberger chipping in 12, and Paige Klipfel contributing 10, demonstrating the team's well-rounded offensive potential.
Kelly hosts Advance with Bell City (1-6) on Thursday, Dec. 14, while East Prairie hosts Century, Ill. (9-2) on Friday, Dec. 15.
