Notre Dame's softball team continued its early-season roll as the Bulldogs hammered host Park Hills Central 18-2 in three innings Monday.
The Bulldogs (3-0) had only six hits, but saw 14 consecutive batters reach base in their 12-run first inning. Park Hills Central committed six errors.
Alana Weissmueller had two hits for Notre Dame, and Kristain Burger was the winning pitcher.

Freshman Sarah Benton struck out 10 and pitched a one-hitter in her first varsity game as Chaffee romped at home in six innings.
Benton also starred at the plate with two hits and four RBIs. Kasey Guzman, Sarah Dooley and Courtney Walter also added two hits apiece for the Red Devils (2-0), who had 12 hits.

Cape Girardeau Central dropped its season opener as visiting Bloomfield won a tight three-setter.
Laura Burdick and Melissa Espinoza each had 12 kills for the Tigers. Jessica Johnston had eight kills, Amy Bickings added seven kills and Kaci Pletcher recorded 38 assists.
Central's JV won 25-11, 25-15.

Charleston 11-9
Kacie Cartwright served nine aces and added four kills as Scott City won its season opener at home.
Ashton Phillips and Jenny Glency each had eight aces for the Rams while Jessica Warren added six aces.
Scott City's JV won 25-12, 25-14.
BOYS SOCCER
Notre Dame JV 8, Kennett 0
Notre Dame's JV blasted Kennett's varsity behind four goals from Ty Williams.
Also scoring were Zach Capriola, Austin Gelsheimer, Tyler LeGrand and Jordan Buchheit. Jack Wedemeier added two assists.
In a strictly JV game, Notre Dame romped 10-0. Williams scored again while also getting goals were Richard Marquart, Brett Heischmidt, Mark Himmelberg, Matt Rosenquist, Nathan Kolda, J.P. Thompson, Luke Moll, John Oliver and Andrew Bertrand. Himmelberg added two assists.
