The Notre Dame softball team found itself in a rare low-scoring game Thursday, but thanks to errorless defense and a three-hit shutout from Miranda Schlosser, the Bulldogs remained undefeated with a 2-0 victory against visiting Central.
The Bulldogs (10-0) were limited to fewer than seven runs for the first time this season.
Schlosser struck out five and walked none to improve to 5-0. The shutout was the eighth for Notre Dame hurlers this season.
Bulldogs sophomore Paris Burger led the offense with a 2-for-4 night. Cortney Ostendorf added a double.
Mia Russell had two of Central's three hits. Amanda Nichols took the loss for the Tigers (6-8).

Starting pitcher Courtney Walter pitched the first three innings, and Sarah Benton pitched the final four.
Rachel Hendrix had a double for the Red Devils (4-11), and Tracy Martin added a triple.

John Unterreiner assisted on both goals, and third-string goalie Nick Wren made two saves for the shutout.
Notre Dame outshot Sikeston 19-2 in the first half and had an 18-5 edge in the second half.
Notre Dame moved to 5-0 with its second win this season against the team it has lost to the last two years in district championship matches. The Bulldogs won the earlier meeting 6-1.
Sikeston fell to 1-4-1.
Notre Dame hosts Whitfield this evening.

Brian Davidson scored twice to lead Jackson to a road win.
Davidson gave the Indians (3-2) a 1-0 lead in the first half, but Carbondale scored twice to go up 2-1 at the half.
Chris Shelton and Davidson scored in the second half for the Indians, with Davidson's second goal coming with three minutes left. Spencer McCormack added an assist.
JV -- Jackson won 4-0.
Central remained undefeated in dual meets with a road win. The Tigers improved to 7-0.
