Here's what happened locally on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
__Cape Central Swimming__
The Tigers fell on the road to Vianney on Tuesday. Phineas Theall won both the 50-yard Freestyle and 100-yard Backstroke with state qualifying times. Wiley Edmundson finished in third place in the 100y Freestyle as did our Medley and 400y Freestyle Relays made up of Theall, Edmundson, Kent Sheridan, Ellis Brune, and Noah Armstrong.
__Meadow Heights Volleyabll__
The Panthers beat Clearwater 25-10 25-10 26-24. Cheyenne Tonjum led Meadow Heights with nine kills, six digs, and three aces. Jaycee Shelton had seven kills, Madisen Denman had five kills, and Taylor Jones led the team with 17 digs.
__Meadow Heights Baseball__
The Panthers defeated Bell City 9-1 at home to improve their record to 3-0 in the fall. Caidyn Byrd hit an RBI double and struck out seven batters in five innings on the mound. Breaden Hays led Meadow Heights with three hits and three RBIs.
__Cape Central Volleyball__
The Tigers defeated Dexter at home in three sets, 25-8, 26-24, 25-18 on Tuesday. Sydney Miller led Cape Central with seven kills, while Laiya Furlow led with four blocks. Ella Hukel led the Tigers with seven aces and 21 digs. Ashlynn Hickey and Avery Criblez combined for 31 assists.
__Perryville Softball__
The Pirates fell to Sikeston 17-8 at home on Tuesday. Rhylee Wengert went 2-for-4 for the Pirates with a double and two RBIs. Perryville is now 1-7 on the year and plays next at Hillsboro on Thursday.
__Chaffee Softball__
The Red Devils defeated Poplar Bluff 10-6 at home on Tuesday. Carlyanne Cossou pitched a complete game and struck out 12 batters, while also going 2-for-2 with an RBI. The Red Devils took control of the game in the sixth inning with five runs highlighted by a two-run single by Jordynn Brown. Kennedy Zgaynor Led Poplar Bluff with a home run and three RBIs.
__Saxony Lutheran Tennis__
The Crusaders defeated Cape Central 9-0 and are now 5-0 on the season.

__Jackson Softball__
The Indians had a strong showing at the end of the Notre Dame Softballfest on Saturday with wins over Chaffee and Doniphan. Ashlyn Dawes went 5-for-8 with 6 RBIs, two doubles, and a triple in her last three games.
__Notre Dame Softball__
The Bulldogs had a strong showing at the end of the Notre Dame Softballfest on Saturday with wins over Van Buren and Chaffee. Lauren Estes went five innings with seven strikeouts and three earned runs on the circle while hitting a two-run home run at the plate against Van Buren. Taylor Kutz struck out 10 batters with three earned runs in eight innings against Chaffee. Jacie Smith hit a home run in the third inning and contributed to the Bulldogs’ six-run eighth inning for the win.
__Kelly Softball__
The Hawks had a strong showing at the end of the Notre Dame Softballfest on Saturday with wins over Van Buren and Cape Central. B Riley went 3-for-4 with four RBIs against Van Buren. She then went 4-for-4, all on doubles and four RBIs against Cape Central.
__Perryville football__
The Pirates defeated Oakville 12-0 on Friday. Quarterback Rilaynd Graham threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Gavin Hemmann and a 10-yard pass to Barrett Wheeler for the final score.
