Rivals Central and Jackson squared off in a tight volleyball match Tuesday night, with the visiting Indians pulling out a three-game victory.

Jackson rallied for a 22-25, 25-21, 25-23 triumph as the Indians improved to 7-3-1 and dropped the Tigers to 9-6-2.

Chelsea Olson had 23 assists and 19 digs for the Indians, while Katelynn James led in kills with 10.

Also for Jackson, Ashlea Soemo had eight kills and 13 digs, and Chelsea Dale added 16 digs and four blocks.

Wendi Zickfield powered home 17 kills for the Tigers. Katie Scholl had 20 assists and five service aces.

JV -- Jackson won 25-17, 25-23.

Freshmen -- Jackson won 25-19, 21-25, 25-21.

Scott City 22 25 25Dexter 25 19 18

Scott City rallied past host Dexter to improve to 7-3.

Whitney Tapley had 10 kills for the Rams, while Brooke Simpson had nine kills, 13 digs, and three blocks.

Kristin Yetman led in assists with 15 and digs with 14.

Katie Diebold contributed 13 digs, followed by Brittany Licare and Marty Trinchieri with 12 digs apiece. Licare also had three aces.

Other key contributors for the Rams were Jordan McFall (10 assists, eight digs), Danyelle Pate (seven digs, five kills) and Heather Huckstep (three blocks).

JV -- Scott City won 25-14 25-9.

St. Vincent 25 25Windsor 12 21

St. Vincent improved to 10-2-1 with a home sweep.

Leaders for St. Vincent were Brooke Brown with five kills, Sarah Moll with four digs and Lacey Siegmund with six assists.

JV -- St. Vincent lost 17-25, 25-14, 25-21.

Freshmen -- St. Vincent won 25-17, 25-22.

Ste. Genevieve 25 25Notre Dame 15 21

Notre Dame was swept by visiting Ste. Genevieve.

Meghan Dohogne and Kaitlin Wibbenmeyer each had four kills for the Bulldogs (5-6-2). Dohogne added four blocks and Paige Schumer had nine assists.

JV -- Notre Dame won in two games.

Freshmen -- Notre Dame won in two games.

Oak Ridge 25 25 27Zalma 19 21 25

Because there was no JV match, Oak Ridge and Zalma decided to play best-of-five, with the Blue Jays sweeping the host Bulldogs.

Emily Ruch led Oak Ridge (5-7) with eight kills and three blocks. Lauren Meyer had five kills and two aces.

Meadow Heights 25 25Valle 23 20

Meadow Heights posted a road sweep.

Jenna Hahs paced the Panthers (6-4-2) with 10 kills.

JV -- Meadow Heights lost 25-13, 25-18.

New Salem wins two

New Salem Baptist Academy of Marble Hill remained undefeated by sweeping a home tri-match.

New Salem (8-0) beat Westwood Baptist 25-20, 25-12 and People's Christian 25-19, 25-18.

Against Westwood, Martie Poole led in kills with six and Celsey Cook had five. Laura Poole recorded 16 assists.

Martie Poole had 11 kills against People's. Laura Poole had 14 assists and three aces, while Leah Jones added four aces.

SOFTBALLJackson 15, Poplar Bluff 3

Jackson pounded out 14 hits to run-rule visiting Poplar Bluff after 4 1/2 innings.

Hana Bolen led the Indians (7-2) with three hits, followed by Amanda Pitts, Kelci Keith, Sheila Wade, Maggie Baugh and Roxanna Miller with two each.

Pitts doubled, tripled and had three RBIs. Keith also delivered three RBIs, while Bolen and Miller both added two RBIs.

Wade allowed three hits for the win on the mound.

Emily Essner pitched a four-hitter as Scott City knocked off rival Chaffee on the road.

Essner also had two of the Rams' (5-8) five hits.

Eagle Ridge 5, Trinity 0

Eagle Ridge Christian remained undefeated and unscored upon with a home win over Trinity Christian from Carbondale, Ill.

Sam Davis scored three goals for Eagle Ridge (3-0), while Josh Wiseman and Mary-Kate Galemmo each added a goal. Wiseman had four assists and Davis had one.

Ethan Grant made seven saves for the shutout.
