Jackson soccer team drops to 5-1 with 1-0 loss

The Jackson boys soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Monday, dropping a 1-0 home decision to Seckman.

Seckman scored on a first-half penalty kick as the Indians fell to 5-1.

"We just couldn't capitalize on opportunities we had," Jackson coach Zack Walton said. "We got some good looks on goal, we just couldn't capitalize."

Lauren Reinagel pitched a three-hit shutout and struck out nine as host Notre Dame romped.

Reinagel, Jane Morrill, Alecia Glaus and Mallory Siebert all had two hits for the Bulldogs (11-2).

Central's JV won its season opener in Illinois as Chris Martin scored two touchdowns and added a pair of two-point conversions. Trey Gardner had Central's other touchdown.
