ST. LOUIS -- Jackson goalie Whitney Werner did not allow a goal in three games this weekend as the Lady Indians won a 1-0 game and battled to two 0-0 draws.
Courtney Urhahn scored the only goal of the weekend in a 1-0 victory over St. Louis Notre Dame on Friday.
On Saturday, Jackson battled Fort Zumwalt South and St. Charles West to 0-0 deadlocks.
Cape Central (10-4-5) came out on both ends of 1-0 games Saturday as it finished the tournament at 1-1-1.
Caitlin Bahn scored in the 43rd minute off an assist from Jessica Ham as Cape Central defeated Parkway West 1-0. Heather Hey recorded the shutout in goal.
In the second game, the Lady Tigers saw St. Louis Notre Dame score 10 minutes in for the game's only goal.
Cape Notre Dame went 0-2-1 over the weekend after losing to St. Charles West 2-0 and Fort Zumwalt South 3-2 Saturday.
Against Fort Zumwalt South, Notre Dame (8-10-2) got goals from Tracie Kluesner and Kristen Boos, with Emily Worley and Brittany Little recording assists.
SOFTBALL
Hawk Invitational
BENTON, Mo. -- Kelly won its own three-team Hawk Invitational, defeating both Poplar Bluff and Scott City.
Dana Essner hurled the Lady Hawks (12-1) to a 1-0 victory over Scott City. The Lady Hawks won despite just one hit off Shana Wadlington and Amy Young.
Wadlington walked the only two batters she faced in the first inning with one coming around to score on a wild pitch. Young relieved and held Kelly to one hit in six innings. She struck out four and walked three.
Scott City (9-9) went 0-2 on the day, also falling 7-1 to Poplar Bluff. The Lady Rams mustered just one hit in the loss. Wadlington suffered the loss, allowing four hits, walking seven and striking out six.
SWIMMING
Springfield Invitational
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Cape Central placed fifth in a 21-team field with a 178 point total.
Columbia Hickman won the meet with 350 points and was followed by Springfield Glendale (302), Lindbergh (296), Emporia, Kan. and Cape Central.
Cape Central's top finish was a third place by Mary Beth Owen in the 200 IM.
