A season-opening pitching duel saw the Oak Ridge baseball team do just enough, eking out three runs on two hits to scrape by Woodland 3-2 on Friday in Marble Hill, Missouri.
The Blue Jays (1-0) got six innings of work on the mound from Tyee Curry (1-0), who allowed one run on two hits with seven strikeouts and seven walks.
Nathan Bolin earned the save.
Curry and Josh Pratt had RBIs for the victors.
The Cardinals (0-1) got ribbies from Keegan Cooper and Garret Cronk, who walked twice.
The two teams combined for 20 strikeouts in the game.

The Red Devils racked up 11 hits and had three pitchers combine for a one-hit shutout as they dropped the Panthers to begin the 2016 season in Chaffee, Missouri.
Gabe Henson, Austin Copeland and Andrew Brown all had a pair of hits while A.J. Owens had a pair of ribbies for Chaffee.
Austin Copeland got the start and the win for the Red Devils, going two innings.

MacKenzie Altenthal fell a home run short of the cycle as she went 3 for 4 with a double, a triple and five RBIs to help the Cardinals past Oak Ridge in the season opener in Marble Hill, Missouri.
Woodland (1-0) went up 4-1 in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back.
Kelsie Long was 3 for 3 with a pair of ribbies for the victors, while Candice Mifflin and Mara Grindstaff each went 3 for 4 with a double.
The Blue Jays (0-1) got a triple from Jessica Hahs while Maci Schamburg went 2 for 3.

The Rams got a shutout in the pitching circle from Kaileigh Dirden to get the season off on the right foot in Piedmont, Missouri.

The Panthers opened their season with a doubleheader sweep of Arcadia Valley on the road, with big second innings factoring in both contests.
Meadow Heights (2-0) scored seven runs in the second inning of Game 1 and six runs in the second inning of Game 2.
Brianna Cochran was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double in the opener, while Mayzie Thompson and Tatum Bollinger were both 2 for 3.
Bollinger also got the pitching victory.
In the second contest, Leianna Bollinger was the winner in the pitcher's circle, while Thompson had a triple and Brittney Marshall and Mollie Welker each notched a pair of hits.
