Braden Cox threw five scoreless innings to lead the Scott City baseball team to a 6-1 victory over Oran in regular-season conference action Wednesday in Oran, Missouri.
Cox gave up only three hits to pick up the win on the mound for the Rams, finishing with seven strikeouts and one walk. He also helped himself at the plate with a pair of doubles.
Trent Pobst and Drew Short also added two hits apiece for Scott City (6-2, 2-0 Scott-Mississippi Conference).
Layne Johnson went five innings and was tagged with the pitching loss for the Eagles. He scattered eight hits and allowed three runs (all earned) with three strikeouts and four walks.
Johnson and Drew Reischman led Oran (2-4, 0-1) on offense with two hits apiece.

Tyler LeGrand shot an 82 as the Indians' lone individual, while Tanner Lawson and Landry Moore carded an 82 in two-person best ball, finishing in a tie for second. Case Englehart and Dylan Murakami also competed in two-person best ball for Jackson, finishing with an 87.
Camdenton finished four strokes ahead of the Indians, claiming the team title with a team score of 247. Jackson finished with a 251, followed by Farmington (257) in third and Park Hills Central (258) in fourth.
